The Pilipuka Agent can assist Hawaiʻi legal professionals with these challenges to help more people.
The Pilipuka Agent is an AI-powered assistant designed to help legal professionals analyze criminal records and assess expungement eligibility. The only records you need to provide it are easily obtained, without cost, from public records in eCourt Kōkua. With Pilipuka Agent, attorneys and supervised legal profesionals can save time reviewing records for expungement eligibility, focus on providing legal advice, and assist more people to complete the forms necessary to request expungement when eligible.
To use this tool, you will need to provide the Pilipuka Agent with PDF records of the cases you want analyzed from eCourt Kōkua. Pilipuka Agent does not currently have permissions required to access those Judiciary records automatically.

How It Works
- Step 1: Perform a party name search on the Hawaii State Judiciary's eCourt Kōkua system and save the "Party Search Results" PDF report generated. Provide the report to Pilipuka Agent. It will indicate which matters in the report appear potentially eligible for expungement.
- Step 2: Open each matter in eCourt Kōkua that Pilipuka Agent indicates may be expungeable in Step 1. Save the "Calendar View" PDF report for each of those matters. Upload them into Pilipuka Agent.
- Step 3: Pilipuka Agent extracts charge details, dispositions, and dates from the matter files to evaluate eligibility against current Hawaiʻi expungement statutes. The agent will provide detailed information about its analysis for your review.
- Step 4: Advise your client. If your client is eligible for expungement, a link to the expungement form is provided for easy reference. Pilipuka Agent does not complete the form. To submit it, it must be printed, payment must be attached, and it must be sent to the state.
